Tiny Spirals

Aged 3-4 years old

The Tiny Spirals class is a group structured to enable your child to develop and improve their gross motor skills through participation in activities. These activities will be focused on kick-starting your child’s football skills. They will include kicking a ball (hand to foot), attempting to handball, following instructions and developing agility skills. This class has minimal parent involvement.

What you can expect

The fundamental skills already learnt will be further developed using various games and drills. These will be delivered in a fun and educational manner with a focus on encouraging your child to participate independently. If your child is only joining us for the first time they will be able to participate as they are encouraged to work at their own level of ability.

  • 45-minute session

  • Minimal parent participation

  • $210 per term

  • $60 one-off registration fee (includes a free guernsey)

  • Ratios: 10 children : 1 coach

  • Where: Westgate Indoor Sports, 61 Dohertys Rd, Altona North.

Milestones and achievements

Football-specific skills

  • Drop punt the ball (hand to foot)

  • Perform a handball

  • Weave between cones while holding a ball then handballing/giving the ball to another child

  • Mark the ball

  • Identify the boundary line, goal square and centre circle

Physical skills

  • Agility

  • Balance

  • Hand-eye coordination

  • Various types of movements (walk, run, jump)

  • Listening skills

  • Self-participation

Motor skills

  • Demonstrate an understanding of a direction through participation

  • Increase peripheral vision

  • Encourage decision making

  • Build confidence and self-esteem
